Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) entered the Indian Premier League (IPL) stage in 2021 as a dynamic and professional franchise cricket team based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Owned by the RPSG Group, which previously held the Rising Pune Supergiant franchise from 2016 to 2017, Lucknow Super Giants are led by the dynamic KL Rahul and guided by the coaching expertise of Justin Langer. The introduction of Lucknow Super Giants came about following an invitation to tender for two new IPL teams in August 2021. Amidst keen competition, the RPSG Group secured the rights to operate the Lucknow franchise with a winning bid of ₹7,090 crore, showcasing their commitment to the league and the cricketing fervor in Lucknow.
