The Guangzhou Loong Lions, known in Chinese as 广州龙狮, are a prominent Chinese professional basketball team based in Guangzhou, Guangdong. They compete in the Southern Division of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), showcasing their skills and determination on the court. The team has a history that traces back to its foundation in November 2000 as Shaanxi Gaitianli Kylins by the Xi'an Dongsheng Group. After winning the "B" league championship in August 2001, they earned promotion to the CBA. In the 2004–05 season, the team, then known as the Shaanxi Kylins, finished fifth in the North Division and missed the playoffs. Similar outcomes occurred in the 2005–06 season, where they finished sixth. The team underwent changes, moving from Xi'an to Foshan in 2010 and renaming themselves the Foshan Dralions. They later adopted the English name "Long-Lions" before the start of the 2014–15 season. In 2016, the team made another move, relocating from Foshan to Guangzhou and renaming themselves the Guangzhou Long-Lions. In 2017, the Nanhai Long-Lions were founded as the affiliate team, competing in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL).
